Fun, Fellowship and Fulfillment Abound
There’s something for everyone at Bishop Spencer Place. Active, vibrant and sociable. Tranquil, leisurely and private. Whichever retirement living lifestyle suits you best … or a combination of all … you’ll find exactly what you want at this outstanding senior living community.
We strive to provide our residents with superior quality programs that they will attend and appreciate. We want to empower our residents to use their fields of expertise, experience, interest and talents to host their own events and programs. With the assistance of resident connections and community volunteers our Resident Program Manager has created diverse and culturally engaging programs for our residents to enjoy.
Each month we publish The Ambassador, which highlights what's on tap at our community, including separate calendars for independent living, assisted living, and skilled nursing. We also have our own In-House Information Television which provides information on daily outings, activities, special announcements, daily menus, etc.
Meet our Resident Life Team
Elizabeth Conaway, Resident Program Manager for Independent Living, has been with Bishop Spencer Place since January 10, 2011. "I have been floored since day one about the genuine good character of Bishop Spencer Place, from the integrity of the staff to the values and lives of our residents. I enjoy my role very much, because I have the opportunity to receive ideas from residents and then use all of the resources we have in our community to deliver their requests. My favorite thing about this job is developing meaningful relationships with our residents," says Elizabeth.
Freedom Johnson, Activities Coordinator for Coventry Court Assisted Living, has been with Bishop Spencer Place since March 2001. She has served as our Coventry Court Activites Coordinator for the past 3 years. "What I like most about my job are the stories the residents have to tell. You here where they started from to where they have ended up," says Freedom.
Cindy Richter, Activities Coordinator for York Place Skilled Nursing & Rehab, has been with Bishop Spencer Place since October 1996. "What I like most about my job is the environment I work in and the relationships I build with the residents in York Place. I love putting a smile on their faces," says Cindy.
Center for Health Enhancement
At Bishop Spencer Place, we believe wellness is achieved not only through diet and exercise, but also through attitude. That’s why we offer opportunities for lifelong learning, volunteering, fun and fellowship.
You’ll find all this and more — both on our campus and nearby at the Center for Health Enhancement, owned by Saint Luke’s Hospital, where you can swim laps, take a yoga class or improve your strength with monitored weight training. As a Bishop Spencer Place resident, you receive a complimentary membership to the Center and complimentary transportation.
