Our Mission Statement:

Bishop Spencer Place is a faith-based, continuing care community for persons who seek retirement care and health services in a life engaging, secure and family-oriented environment.

Our Values:  

• Be respectful. We hold a profound regard for the life, dignity and personal growth of our residents and staff, manifested in all attitudes, activities and services that we provide.
• Be compassionate. We provide personal care and empathy to all our residents and through support by our faith-based community, benevolent care to those most in need.
• Be spiritually sensitive. We value the spiritual wellness of all persons by providing pastoral care and spiritual support to our residents, their loved ones and our staff.
• Be responsive. We address with genuine interest and concern the unique needs of each resident and the collective desires of the community.
• Be hospitable. We offer warmth and congeniality to our residents, their families and friends and any who visit our community.
• Be financially viable. We believe we must be financially sound to ensure the full continuum of quality health care, connected services and security for our residents.

Our Heritage:

Our board of directors is composed of devoted Kansas City leaders who uphold our community's values and work hard on our residents' behalf.

Close affiliations with Saint Luke's Health System and physicians, as well as with the Episcopal Diocese of West Missouri, contribute to our governance, financial stability and mission.

We offer a strong faith-based environment with an active spiritual life, and welcome diversity among our residents. Bishop Spencer Place is a warm, friendly senior living community with the strength to support you mentally, physically and spiritually.

The Place to Be for Over 15 years

We're proud to have been home to so many wonderful residents since opening our doors in December 1995. With a strong history of service and accomplishment, we look forward to being the retirement destination of choice in Kansas City for years to come.

Benevolent Care Endowment Fund

Bishop Spencer Place is a community of good people who care about each other. Through the voluntary contributions of generous residents and our friends in the community-at-large, those who experience difficulty in paying their monthly service fees may be eligible to receive financial assistance through our endowment fund. Even if they outlive their resources, they'll never be asked to leave Bishop Spencer Place.
